I've been deeply fascinated by the process of building business relationships my entire working career.  The growth of the Internet, related technologies, and now online social networking have only intesified my fascination.

I believe that human beings have a natural process that they follow when they build relationships.  The process itself doesn't change because we insert technology in the mix, but the way we execute the steps does.

The core elements of the natural relationship building process are:

Face-to-face contact in small, local communities makes it easier to build on each of those elements.  The anonymous Internet adds time, distance and shakey trust to the equation.  All those negatives can be overcome with awareness, care and attention to detail.  And they are well worth overcoming; both now, and increasingly so in the future.

There is a great deal to talk about in this area, and I'm looking forward to having those discussions with you.  Below are some of my more popular posts on the topic of relationship marketing.
